Nothing much here maybe. The lathe probably lost its stretcher when the flywheel and treadle assembly went walkabout. Well as I am going to return this machine to it original state or better, then a new one was needed.

Just a length of one inch steel bar, two new bolts to match the ones I made for the bed and a pair of brass stepped washers the same...........

One point however, this piece was hot rolled mild steel, so it comes with a very tough scale, the result of oxidisation when cooling from red hot. This stuff is as tough as old boots, but its also not good for painting on top of, so I removed all the scale with an abrasive before hand. I put four holes in these bolts, because being right down on the floor getting a half turn on would be very awkward.
