The original fixings are still quite serviceable, but they were mounted on small wooden blocks, the bottom ones were so badly corroded that they hadn't been off in many years, the bolts were practically eaten through, so I have made new pads from three quarter inch brass plate.........

The two brackets with the screws in are the top ones, it quite baffles me why the fixing points to the frame are actually behind the point where the crooks pass down through, okay this hides the bolts, but it also means that unless you have fourteen foot high ceilings you have to erect the crooks prior to assembling the bed and end frames. Now I need to ascertain if the existing holes in the end frames are true to vertical, if not allowances will be made.
