applies to the countershaft, ram screw adjusting shaft (on top of ram) and table lift screw shaft. Adjustments of these parts will seldom be necessary.

DRIVING BELTS

The belts must be adjusted when the ball handled control lever is in the operating position, to avoid any possibility of excessive tension being applied. A movement of approximately 1" at the centre of the belt run will give the correct tension - less will overload both belts and bearings.

Countershaft to Pinion Shaft Belt

To adjust, slaken the three bolts supporting the slotted countershaft hinge bracket, move the assembly up or down until the desired belt tension is obtained, and retighten the bolts.

Motor to Countershaft Belt

To adjust, move the motor platform up or down by adjusting the nuts on the screw which protrudes through the hinge bracket, until the desired belt tension is obtained.
